What are web directories?
Imagine a yellow pages but every site that’s listed has got a hyper link.
They are at their peak, and there must be more than 10,000 of them at the moment. The current blooming of directories was instigated by the availability of cheap but well-built scripts to run them. They are an interesting tool as many SEO people will mention : BACKLINKS ARE GREAT for SEO. By giving you a backlink from the directory they should help your site a little to budge it up the rankings.
Many people start them because they can have a payment structure built-in which gives the site a few dollars for reviewing your site and making sure it’s in the correct category and contributes towards the hosting costs.

Maybe this higher class of submitters will even be literate enough to read the terms and conditions thereby making approvals a lot quicker. Now you can start to make some money too.
